Sherri Melson – Sherri is head coach and program director of Flyers Gymnastics. She is a former USAG competitive gymnast who brings 30 plus years of coaching experience and education to Flyers Gymnastics. Her coaching career has spanned all age ranges and experience levels, from pre-school to competitive team gymnastics. Sherri is a USAG Professional Member with a safety certification, instructor certification, and USAG approved back ground check. She is also CPR & first aid certified. Sherri loves to travel and has been married for 34 years to her husband Kevin.
Marissa Miller – Marissa is our head Coach for Xcel Platinum & Diamond. Her coaching career has spanned all age ranges of experience level. Marissa is a USAG professional member with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved back ground check. She is also CPR & first aid certified. Marissa has been coaching at Flyers for the last 15-plus years. She is a former USAG optional competitive gymnast. Marissa is the mom of 2 girls and 1 boy. Her oldest daughter is a competitive gymnast, her middle daughter is in our pre-school program, and her son is involved in our PACT program.
Emily Webster – Emily W has been a coach with Flyers for fifteen years. Emily is a former USAG competitive gymnasts. Emily’s coaching career has spanned all age ranges and experience levels, from pre-school to competitive team gymnastics. Emily is currently a sub for our instructional classes. Outside of the gym Emily is an EMT/Firefighter for Jamestown Fire Department.
Kelsey McDaneld – Kelsey is an assistant team coach. This is Kelsey’s 11th year coaching at Flyers. She is a USAG member with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved back ground check. She is CPR & First aid certified. Kelsey participated on Flyer’s competitive team until she graduated. Kelsey is an elementary teacher for Frewsburg.
Kennedy Lynn – Kennedy is an Instructional class coach and this will be her 2nd year coaching at Flyers. Kennedy is currently a competitive gymnast at Flyers and enjoys working with kids. She is a USAG member.
Melissa Barber – Melissa B is a staff trainer and instructional class coach This is her 10th year coaching at Flyers. Melissa is USAG professional member, with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved background check. Melissa is CPR & First Aid Certified. Melissa is an elementary school teacher for Randolph. Melissa has 2 daughters who are competitive gymnasts at Flyers and a son who participates in our boys program.
Mara Marsh – Mara is an Instructional Class coach, head Xcel team coach, and assistant compulsory coach. This is her ninth year coaching at Flyers. Mara is a USAG instructor member and is safety certified, and CPR & First Aid certified. Mara has been a Flyers Competitive gymnast until her senior year. Mara is a 2023 graduate of Fredonia State with a degree in communications. Mara also helps with Flyers facebook.
Fawn Schuster – Fawn is our team ballet instructor and choreographer. This is Fawn’s 14th year teaching ballet at Flyers. Fawn has been teaching ballet and private lessons for 19 years. She began her 35 years of dance experience with the Jamestown Civic Ballet Company under the direction of Ms. Shirley Kopp. Fawn is trained in the Cecchetti and Vaganova ballet techniques. She danced in the Nutcracker with Empire State Ballet for 3 years with Beth Elkins and Harris N. Ferris, current Director of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Fawn has also danced with the Lake Erie Ballet and taken multiple master classes from various professional dancers. Fawn also teaches at Chautauqua Lake.
Melissa Young – Melissa Y is our Office Manager and this is her 6th year with Flyers Gymnastics. Her daughter Mara is a coach at Flyers.
Teresa Walker – Teresa is a receptionist and team manager. This is her third year with Flyers Gymnastics. Teresa has a daughter who is competitive gymnast at Flyers.
Halle Nelsen – Halle is an instructional class coach and level 2 head coach. This is her 7th year at Flyers. Halle is USAG professional member, with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved background check. Halle is CPR & First Aid Certified. Halle is a former Flyers gymnast and is attending Fredonia State.
Jennifer Armella – Jen is an instructional class coach and an assistant team coach. This is her fifth year coaching at Flyers. Jen is CPR and First Aid Certified. Jen also has her degree in Physical Education from St. Bonaventure and her Masters in Health Promotion and Education from the University of Alabama. Outside of the gym Jen is a physical education teacher at Frewsburg Elementary School. Jen also has 2 daughters that are gymnasts at Flyers. Her oldest will be competing as a level 4 this season.
Emily Chapman – Emily is an instructional class coach and this is her fourth year coaching at Flyers. Emily will be in charge of Flyers Pre team program this year. Emily is a 2024 graduate of Randolph Central School and finished her career as a competitive gymnast at Flyers. Emily will be attending JCC and will be pursuing a degree in elementary education. Emily will also be offering in the future some inclusive gymnastic classes.
Felicia Brentley – Felicia is an instructional class coach and this is her third year coaching at Flyers. Felicia will be in charge of Flyers Xcel Bronze program this year. Felicia is CPR & First Aid Certified.
Marisa Swan – Marisa is an assistant team coach and this is her second year coaching at Flyers. Marisa is a USAG professional member, with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved background check. Marisa is CPR & First Aid Certified.
Amanda Thompson – Amanda is an instructional class coach and this is her third year coaching at Flyers. Amanda is USAG instructor member, with a safety certification, instructor certification, and a USAG approved background check. Amanda is CPR & First Aid Certified. Amanda is a teacher for the Cassadaga Valley school system. She has 5 children who all take classes at Flyers and 2 of them are competitive gymnasts.
Kayla Allen – Kayla is an assistant team coach and this is her fourth year coaching at Flyers. Kayla is a former level 9 gymnast and alumni of Flyers.
